Alba Berlin Takes Game One
The FC Bayern Basketball team's quest for a EuroLeague title ended in disappointment as they were defeated by Alba Berlin in the BBL finals. The Bavarians were unable to equalize in the best-of-five series, losing Game One 83-96 on Friday.
Despite a strong start to the game, Bayern was unable to maintain their momentum and Alba Berlin took control in the second half. The Berliners' defense proved to be too strong for Bayern's offense, holding them to just 37% shooting from the field.
Derby Match in Chemnitz
In other BBL news, FC Bayern will face bitter rivals Brose Bamberg in a top-of-the-table clash in Chemnitz on Sunday. The game is expected to be a closely fought affair, with both teams in need of a win to boost their playoff hopes.
"This is a derby that always has great significance," said Bayern coach Andrea Trinchieri. "We know that Bamberg is a strong team, but we are confident that we can beat them.".
ALBA Berlin vs FC Barcelona
In international action, ALBA Berlin will take on FC Barcelona in the EuroLeague on December 19th.
