Cruise ship to emerge from dry dock with 49-foot midsection
100 million renovation project includes new bars, restaurants, heated pool
**Genova, Italy** - The Silversea ship Silver Spirit is set to emerge from dry dock in March 2020 with a dramatic new look, thanks to a 100 million renovation project that includes the addition of a 49-foot midsection. The ship entered dry dock back in 2018 as a 640-foot 36009 ton ship and left two months later almost unrecognizable. The Silver Spirit's lengthening is just one part of a major renovation that will see the ship receive a number of new features, including new bars, restaurants, and a heated pool. The ship will also be fitted with new engines and propellers, which will improve its fuel efficiency and performance. When the Silver Spirit returns to service in April 2020, it will be one of the most luxurious ships in the Silversea fleet. The ship will offer a variety of itineraries, including cruises to the Mediterranean, the Caribbean, and the Arctic.
